S&P 500 And Nasdaq Close

The broad market index fluctuated close to its highest closing levels since August 2022 while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both ended Wednesday’s trading session down.




The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.29% to settle at 13,104.89, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.38% to end at 4,267.52. The outlier among the main averages, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, rose 91.74 points, or 0.27%, to close at 33,665.02.

With a 2.6% increase, the energy sector led all S&P 500 sectors in performance. Both the First Trust Natural Gas ETF (FCG) and SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP) gained more than 3%.
