Stocks showed little movement on Thursday as traders assessed the recent surge and anticipated the next market spark.
18 points, or 0.1%, were lost by the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The Nasdaq Composite increased 0.1% as the S&P 500 moved barely over the flat line.
After the video game retailer announced the termination of CEO Matthew Furlong, GameStop shares fell by about 19%. Ryan Cohen was also chosen to serve as executive chairman.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite have recently experienced a decline. The Nasdaq fell 1.29%, while the broad market index ended the day lower by 0.38%. The exception was the Dow Jones, which increased by 0.27% or 91.74 points.
