On Monday, the S&P 500 experienced a slight decline as weakness in major technology stocks offset a decline in Treasury yields.
The overall market dropped 0.2%, with the Nasdaq Composite falling 0.4%. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 105 points, or 0.2%.
The decline was primarily driven by weakness in chip stocks, with Micron Technology dropping over 5%.
Advanced Micro Devices and Broadcom also retreated, losing nearly 3% and 2%, respectively. The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) declined by 2%.
