The S&P 500 edged lower on Monday, with a decline in key technology stocks offsetting a decrease in Treasury yields.
The broader market index decreased by 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.5%. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose slightly, gaining 32 points, or 0.1%.
Tech stocks weighed on equity futures, driven by declines in semiconductor companies.
Micron Technology dropped over 3%, and both Advanced Micro Devices and Broadcom declined nearly 2% and about 1%, respectively.
The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) also fell nearly 2%.
Other technology stocks also saw declines. Coherent and Lumentum each fell 5%, along with SanDisk. Corning decreased nearly 3%, and Seagate Technology declined almost 4%.
