The S&P 500 snapped a three-day losing streak on Wednesday, buoyed by declining bond yields after the Treasury Department announced plans to increase buybacks of longer-term debt.
The index rose by 0.21%, closing at 7,707.98. The Nasdaq Composite also edged higher, gaining 0.16% to finish at 26,331.09.
Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 119.65 points, or 0.22%, ending the day at 53,463.05.
