U.S. equity futures gained Thursday, rebounding from the previous day’s sharp selloff following the Federal Reserve’s decision to hold interest rates steady. The rally was led by gains in Microsoft and semiconductor stocks.
Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 225 points, or 0.4%. S&P 500 futures increased by 0.6%, while Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 1.4%.
Microsoft surged 8.3% in premarket trading, driven by growth in its Azure cloud services. Semiconductors also saw a boost, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) up more than 3% in premarket trading.
On the downside, Meta Platforms declined 9% ahead of the open after issuing a soft revenue forecast and reporting a 91% drop in second-quarter free cash flow.
