Stock Futures Slightly Decline

Wednesday morning’s U.S. stock futures were marginally down as investors awaited the release of the consumer price index for additional information on inflation.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures decreased by 57 points, or 0.16%. While Nasdaq 100 futures dipped 0.2%, S&P 500 futures fell 0.14%.

Tuesday’s primary trading session saw losses for all three major averages. The Nasdaq Composite was especially severely impacted, falling 1% as pressure mounted on tech names. The Dow dipped less than 0.1% while the S&P 500 dropped roughly 0.6%.

Apple lost 1.7%, which hurt the indices, then lost another 0.57% in Wednesday’s premarket trade. Due to weak forecast and poor revenue, Oracle had its worst day in more than 20 years, falling 13.5% on Tuesday and another 0.5% in Wednesday’s premarket.

The August CPI report, which is due Wednesday morning, is currently the subject of attention on Wall Street.
