Stocks Haven’t Changed Much

Traders evaluated the most recent U.S. jobs report as they tried to cap off a successful week, with stocks making minimal movement on Friday.

Inching up 103 points, or 0.3%, was the Dow Jones Industrial Average. As the Nasdaq Composite fell, the S&P 500 rose by 0.1%.

In the morning, the major averages rose significantly. While the Nasdaq and S&P 500 each increased by 0.8% before falling back, the Dow briefly traded more than 250 points higher.

For the week, the S&P 500 and Dow both saw gains of 2% and 1%. As a result, they are on track to make their largest weekly progress since July. The Nasdaq is on pace to have its best one-week performance since July, with a gain of around 3% so far this week.
