Elon Musk’s politics, his inflammatory remarks about X, and his attempts to restore Trump to the White House were the subjects of dozens of questions from retail shareholders on a forum that Tesla uses to ask investor questions online before its earnings calls.
One anonymous retail investor posted on the site, saying, “Elon Musk has the right to express his political views, but his public activism seems at odds with his responsibility as CEO to protect shareholder value.”
“How does Tesla respond to this, and is it able to verify that Musk’s actions aren’t hurting growth or sales?” The remark was upvoted 168 times.
Another question, which garnered 527 upvotes, asked whether the board of Tesla is taking any action to guarantee that Musk’s “political engagement doesn’t detract from Tesla’s core mission and protects shareholder value and brand integrity.”
