Since they now had a location online to sell their specialised goods and reach a wide audience, Etsy has drawn artists and craft manufacturers since its founding nearly 20 years ago.
However in recent years, resellers who have figured out how to manipulate the website to push out handcrafted goods have overwhelmed Etsy with generic, mass-produced goods.
Josh Silverman, the CEO of Etsy, now desires a return to the company’s original goals, which include “keeping commerce human.”
New labels that detail the creative process of each seller for a certain item are among the modifications made to the website and app.
