Stocks increased on Monday, building on their strong performance the previous week, as Wall Street awaits new inflation data this week. The 0.2% increase in the Dow Jones Industrial Average was 81 points.
The S&P 500 also increased 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.3%. After increasing more than 2% last week, the 30-stock Dow had its greatest weekly performance of 2024. Throughout that time, the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both increased by more than 1%.
