The Dow Drops Over 100 Points, Marking the First Decline in Five Sessions

As the market relinquished some of the gains made during the holiday week, stocks declined on Thursday.

The first decline in five sessions was a 135-point drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 both fell by 0.3%. On Wednesday, the market was closed in observance of Christmas.

This week, the major averages may experience their first decline following consecutive days of rises.

This week, the Dow has increased by 0.8%, while the S&P 500 has up 1.6%. To far, the Nasdaq has risen 2.1% due to the robust increase in megacap technology.
