The Dow is Little Altered a Day after the Benchmark Reaches 40,000 for the First Time

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded virtually flat on Friday, after briefly surpassing the critical 40,000 barrier for the first time the previous day.

The Dow rose to an intraday high of 40,051.05, over the psychologically significant 40,000 barrier, before falling 0.1% to conclude the day.
