On Tuesday, the S&P 500 declined for a third straight session.
The Nasdaq Composite ended the day down 0.42% at 16,315.70, while the broader market index fell 0.28% to conclude at 5,203.58. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 39,282.33, down 31.31 points, or 0.08%.
The day’s activities were a retreat from the events of the previous week, when the Dow surpassed 40,000 and all three indices finished at record levels on Thursday.
A wide range of stocks saw gains on Tuesday, with Tesla rising by about 3%. This represents a turnaround for the electric vehicle manufacturer, which has struggled so far this year.
A 7.4% increase in Seagate Technology shares followed an upgrade to overweight at Morgan Stanley due to confidence regarding artificial intelligence. Krispy Kreme organized  39% after the merchant of doughnuts declared it will increase the scope of its collaboration with McDonald’s.
