Following last week’s first closing over the crucial 40,000 milestone, U.S. equities saw minimal movement on Monday.
Dropping 45 points, or 0.1%, was the 30-stock average. Concurrently, there was a 0.2% and 0.4% increase in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite.
When the Dow gained 134.21 points, or 0.3%, to close Friday at 40,003.59, it recorded its first close above the 40,000 mark. The Dow first touched the 40,000 barrier during Thursday’s trading session.
