As investors tried to maintain a positive start to the week amid a busy period of corporate earnings, stock futures fell on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped 160 points, or 0.5%. Nasdaq-100 futures retreated by 0.7%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.5%.
Following a strong start to the week on Wall Street, futures have been moving. The Nasdaq Composite led Monday’s gains with a gain of 2.01%. The Dow and S&P 500 both saw gains of 0.76% and 1.19%, respectively. The major averages had their second consecutive positive day, and all three are up in 2023.
Despite a lackluster start to earnings season and additional indications that the U.S. economy is faltering, the gains have occurred despite expectations that.
