LONDON— Zepz, a British digital remittances provider, is liquidating its business operations in Poland and Kenya and is laying off dozens of IT employees.
The redundancy procedures would affect about 200 people, two laid-off workers told CNBC, requesting anonymity because of the delicate nature of the situation.
With 1,000 employees worldwide as of January, London-based Zepz, formerly known as WorldRemit, is affecting about 20% of its personnel with the layoffs.
The former workers, the layoffs impact a number of IT departments inside the organisation, such as database administration, development operations, and software engineering.
