Wednesday saw a little decline in stock futures as investors anticipated the January consumer inflation report.
While Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped 78 points, or 0.2%, S&P 500-related futures saw a slight decline of 0.1%.
The futures for the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.1%.
The report on the consumer price index is scheduled to be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The Dow Jones predicts headline inflation will have increased 2.9% from a year ago and 0.3% from the previous month.
Even if some categories may experience future deflation, some Wall Street analysts are worried that Trump’s tariffs may counteract that.
The economy is still strong despite these concerns, though, and investors should keep that in mind.
