Lisa Banks, a former ServiceNow finance executive, has been appointed as chief financial officer of Abnormal Security, a startup that sells email security software to businesses, as the company prepares for an initial public offering (IPO).
The established market, which includes industry leaders Proofpoint and Mimecast, is being targeted by Abnormal, which is introducing an artificial intelligence layer that can identify email assault threats.
Email tools that are competitive are provided by other startups like Material Security and Sublime Security.
In an interview, Banks stated, “We’re upending the traditional market, and the strategy centred on AI and human behaviour is really distinctive.”
