CME Group has introduced new single-stock futures that trade nearly 24 hours a day, providing investors with a new tool to wager on stocks like SpaceX and Micron Technology.
The exchange launched cash settled futures on 55 U.S. equities and micro sized contracts on 22 stocks, allowing for leveraged long or short positions around the clock.
These futures trade on CME’s Globex platform from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon, with a one hour daily maintenance break, enabling investors to react to earnings reports and market-moving events outside regular trading hours.
The lineup includes futures for high profile stocks such as SpaceX, Micron Technology, Nvidia, Tesla, and Apple. Standard contracts represent 100 shares, while micro contracts represent 10 shares.
