On Tuesday, Huawei unveiled its trifold smartphone outside of China as it prepares to re-enter global markets following a shaming by U.S. sanctions.
The Mate XT is expected to start at 3,499 euros ($3,660). Huawei has advised consumers to keep an eye out for local announcements, although it has not yet disclosed which countries will offer the device. The item was available for purchase in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
As the world’s first trifold phone, the device sparked curiosity when it was first introduced in China last year. Typically, foldable electronics can be folded in half, either horizontally or vertically. The Mate XT can display content on one, two, or three screens and folds at two different locations.
