Jared Isaacman, the 41-year-old space enthusiast who led the first all-civilian mission to reach orbit just months ago, is president-elect Donald Trump’s choice to lead NASA. In addition, he is a crypto billionaire.
Shift4, a fintech business that offers safe payment processing solutions to companies, was founded by Isaacman. With an almost 40% increase in stock price this year, the company’s market capitalisation now stands at $9.3 billion.
In 2020, Isaacman went public on the New York Stock Exchange, having founded the company in 1999 when he was just 16 years old.
Trump announced the nomination in a tweet on his Truth Social platform on December 4, writing, “Jared has demonstrated exceptional leadership, building a trailblazing global financial technology company.”
