Beijing — The company has received over 2.7 million pre-orders for its trifold smartphone as of Monday. On Saturday at noon, the Chinese business started accepting pre-orders for its Mate XT.
That was more than two days in advance of Tuesday, Beijing time, when Apple was supposed to debut the iPhone 16.
Earlier on Tuesday, 2:30 p.m., Huawei had declared that it would unveil a new device. For the Mate XT, the manufacturer has not yet disclosed a price.
Sept. 20 is when the device is scheduled to go on sale. In the second quarter, Apple dropped from Canalys’ list of the top five Chinese smartphone makers. The company stated that this was the first time that domestic players had all five positions.
