Stock Futures Decline as June Trade Keeps Off to a Slow Start

Tuesday saw a decline in stock futures as Wall Street attempted to regain its footing following the month’s erratic beginning.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average’s futures fell 197 points, or 0.5%. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 both decreased by 0.5%.

Futures trading changed after the Dow dropped more than 115 points, or 0.3%, on June’s first trading day. On Monday, the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 both saw slight increases.

Poor manufacturing statistics dampened investor mood as they wait for the Federal Reserve to wait for inflation to drop sufficiently before lowering interest rates. Investors are also watching to see if growth can continue.
