The Nasdaq Composite had its greatest first half since 1983, and stocks increased on Friday as technology names extended their astounding run. A strong start to the year was capped off by these gains.
To close at 34,407.60, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 285.18 points, or 0.84%. The Nasdaq Composite increased 1.45% to close at 13,787.92, while the S&P 500 rose 1.23% to close at 4,450.38.
