Thursday’s launch of bitcoin exchange-traded funds, following the long-awaited approval from the SEC, is accompanied by a range of price points, indicating the start of a potential fee competition.
Among the new bitcoin funds, the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) boasts the lowest expense ratio at 0.20%. Close behind are the Ark21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) at 0.21% and the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) at 0.25%.
Moreover, the Bitwise fund offers a temporary fee waiver that eliminates the expense entirely for the first $1 billion of assets for a period of six months. Similar waivers are found in other proposed funds, which means early investors in these bitcoin ETFs can enjoy minimal or zero management costs for a limited time.
