Natural gas-burning turbines at Elon Musk’s new data centre, xAI, are allegedly contributing to Memphis, Tennessee’s pollution problem without a permission.
This accusation comes from environmental and health organisations. Just after revealing it had raised $6 billion at a $24 billion value, the business announced it was opening the data centre in June in a former Electrolux plant.
Last month, Musk boasted on X that the facility was using 100,000 H100 processors from Nvidia to train xAI’s AI models.
