In an aggressive effort to entice staff members back to the office, Amazon is taking things a step further and requiring that some employees relocate to a central hub in order to be with their team. According to information obtained by CNBC, those who are unable or unwilling to comply are being pushed to find new employment, and some are even opting to resign.
About the new relocation requirement, several employees spoke with CNBC. A remote worker in Texas said that managers reassured his team in March that nothing would change despite the return-to-office (RTO) directive issued the previous month. The team, however, received word from management in July that they would have to choose between working out of Seattle, New York, Austin, Texas, or Arlington.
