The First Look at Apple’s Eagerly Anticipated iPhone AI

Apple Intelligence, a collection of AI tools that will enhance Siri, create emails and photos automatically, and organise alerts, debuted its initial iteration on Monday.

In the iOS 18.1 developer beta, a new program known as Apple Intelligence was made available. Similar releases for the iPad and Mac are also available.

Only authorised Apple developers can presently access it. Apple charges $99 annually for its developer program.

In order to access the service after updating, users will need to sign up for a waitlist inside Apple’s settings app, which entails pinging Apple servers for more complex queries.

It’s scheduled for public release later this year, but the 18.1 version number indicates that Apple Intelligence won’t be available at the same time as the upcoming iPhone hardware—which is anticipated to debut with iOS 18 in the fall.
